2017 FALL SCHEDULES
The Northampton Soccer Recreation League promotes soccer as an enjoyable activity while developing the fundamental skills, instruction of the rules, and elements of team play for the children of the City of Northampton and surrounding communities to enjoy the game of soccer. Playing soccer should be viewed as an opportunity to grow and gain valuable experiences such as discipline, teamwork, a positive attitude, general respect and good sportsmanship while developing a strong self-esteem.
The Recreation Soccer League is open for children in grades 3-6 who would like to be active on a team each fall season. Teams typically meet three times a week with practices and games on weekends and also two evenings a week. While most games are in Northampton, we do cooperate with a few neighboring towns such as Hadley and Southampton to have an expanded number of teams to compete against. The season runs from after Labor Day through the first week in November. Teams are coached by parent volunteers who receive a CORI Check and whom are also provided coaching guidance from the NSC Coaching Directors.
Registration for fall soccer will be during June and July with teams being formed around Labor Day. All kids can play and will receive meaningful playing time in each game. The league does its best to balance teams by age and ability while also doing its be to place kids on teams with their friends and classmates. There are no tryouts and all players who register on time will be placed on a team.
Games begin after Labor Day. There is no Columbus Day weekend activity.
Practices and games are held weeknights after 5 and Saturday mornings.
